Operation Defuse spotlights militarization, federalization of law enforcement
YOUR TOWN, STATE Month XX, 20XX – Freedom, accountability and liberty are just a few of the “dangerous” words that will be shared at [today’s, tomorrow’s. Friday’s] rally for Operation Defuse, an awareness and action campaign aimed to stem the growth of a totalitarian-style police state.
After the inadvertent release of the MIAC report by a Missouri Fusion Center and the deeply disturbing “Homegrown Terrorism” document from Virginia’s Fusion Center, concerned citizens are demanding to know what is happening in the 79 fusion centers across the country.
“You see, DHS has found a back door way to both militarize and federalize every level of law enforcement, and through these “fusion centers”, all levels of law enforcement basically become pledged to the war on terror,” said Catherine Bleish, executive director of Liberty Restoration Project.
Liberty Restoration Project and Texans for Accountable Government are teamed up with thousands of volunteers across the country and right here in [city] to demand accountability and combat the intrusive nature of fusion centers.
The fusion centers combine assets from local, state and federal authorities including military representatives and intelligence specialists to assemble data on crime and, based on information from Missouri and Virginia, track dangerous subversive like Texas Congressman Ron Paul or any one of the hundreds of thousands of Americans that attended Tea Party rallies.
Fusion Centers have been implicated in the use of military predator drones by law enforcement over Dallas, Minnesota and New York. In California, Naval counter-insurgency experts are working with Salinas police to eliminate run away gang violence. These centers hide their actions behind the cloak of national security and are subject to little, if any, oversight and none of it by the public.
